Buying Original Art
All items shown here are
direct scans from the original ink,
pencil or color painting, without any
digital touch ups as is often used in
the press-ready final file destined for
the client. All drawings and inks are
done on acid free paper, often on 60lb
or heavier weight sheets, light enough
to work with on a light table but robust
enough for framing. All Acrylics are
rendered on card stock, over the base
drawing image which is laminated to
masonite board, and the outer image
edges painted black for archival
purposes and ease of framing.
Shipping for
drawings usually consists of an
appropriate sized envelope, with a heavy
card backing, the image sealed in an
appropriate sized zip loc plastic or
other plastic sleeve for protection from
potential moisture damage.
We ship using Canada
Post, using standard ground shipping
for North American delivery within a
week or less.
The artist personally
signs each drawing in pencil and on the
back of each board based painting in
permanent marker, and packages the art
himself. He has one post office visit
per week, usually on Fridays.
The pictures of sold
images will remain on this portion of
the site, and are denoted by a red spot,
as customary in a standard art gallery.
TERMS OF SALE: I
accept funds in Canadian or US
dollars, on par. I accept paypal
( paid to
artmotive@telus.net ) and
personal checks (written to William
McAusland). I ship artwork when a check
has cleared at the bank or the paypal
funds have arrived. At this time I do
not take credit cards.
Please
email the artist for availability of
an image prior to sending paypal or a
check, as this site gallery may not be
updated as quickly as sales occur.
Satisfaction is
guaranteed. If, when the image
arrives, you are dissatisfied, simply
mail it back and I will write you a
refund check and send it to you when the
artwork arrives in the same condition I
sent it.
Purchase of original art
does not constitute the license
to the reproduction or publication
rights of said image, as such rights
have already been sold by the image’s
original commissioning client. In short,
no, you can't use the art you've
bought from McAusland Studios in your
publications. If you are looking for
existing art to buy, check out
Fantasy Clip Inks.
If you have any questions
or concerns, please
email me.
Additional images are
being prepared for sale so check back
soon.
