The Tumbled Land A 36 x 48 inch canvas... took me days to do as I redid the sky a few times. I have this one around someplace, rolled up like most of the stuff from my metaphysical-mediation stage in Vancouver. I believe this was done around 1991. This image shows the early stages of my painting style, how I rendered rocks. While it is not based on a real spot, it is inspired by a location behind Kamloops where I used to camp, and by day, I would erect stone's into interesting looking mounds and places to make pit fires which would allow a log to burn all night, avoid detection by local ranchers, and stop sparks from blowing out into the dry grass of the hill top.
